Using the web.config or app.config to store database connection strings makes sense, right? No need to recompile to change database connections. You just update your XML file and away you go. For Windows authentication or Integrated Security, this works fine, but... |

Started throwing around ideas for a facelift on The Gaming Asylum today. Seeing Horty post quality content about Crysis has got me excited about a more "content-rich" website. Based on my experience here with Joomla, it seems to be the right thing to use. Why re-invent the wheel. I'm not real fond of the template we've currently chosen, but game related Joomla templates don't seem to be very popular. |

I guess it's about time to jump into the blog-o-sphere. I've read plenty of blogs, most of them technical, and have always wanted to participate in my own. Whether I write anything of value remains to be seen.
A little background, I guess.... I'm the Director of Information Technology for a small game company in southern California, but I've been around computers my whole life. I started programming in high-school up until I got out of the Navy.
